Tumbarumba has a heritage of goldmining, timber and agriculture. A friendly town situated in a valley with spectacular mountain views, it has some lovely old buildlngs and a picturesque creekscape behind the main street. It is an ideal base for visiting Mt Selwyn snowfields.
Khancoban was established as a construction town for the Snowy Mountains Scheme. It is situated at the southern end of the shire and offers stunning views of the main range and Mt Kosciuszko. It provides an ideal location for fishing, boating, canoeing, water skiing, whitewater rafting, and is only 77km from Thredbo snow fields.
Jingellic is a small village located right on the mighty Murray River. It has a General Store and the Bridge Hotel is a favourite spot for locals and visitors.
